I am stunned and saddened to hear of director Tony Scott’s suicide. Tony Scott was one of my very favorite directors. His “The Hunger” was a turning point in my life. In my opinion True Romance and Crimson Tide are (no exaggeration) candidates for the single finest movies of the ’90s in their respective genres, and are among the best made films of all time; they exemplify quality storytelling. These two films were a huge influence on the way I think about writing.
I am deeply saddened to hear that he’s killed himself. For what it’s worth, my condolences to his friends and family.
